It has been awhile since I posted on this site. Boy, have I been busy, so busy, that time just got away from me. To quote the theme in my last post, “Life is what happens to you while you are busy making other plans”. One of the many projects that I have been involved with was to complete my mosaic tutorial. I love colors, texture and patterns the tile creates in a mosaic design. It’s a one of a kind piece of art.
In my mosaic tutorial, the main goal is teaching you the techniques to create your own mosaic design project. This mosaic project just happens to be a vanity top with a coordinating backsplash. My tutorial will take you through a step-by-step process. I have worked on small to large mosaic projects and have developed a technique that will make it easy for you to do.
When I was teaching myself how to mosaic, with the help from books, I realized that they left some things out that would have made the projects easier. So, I had to figure it out myself. In this tutorial, you will not have to experience the same things as I did. I have come up with tips and techniques to make your mosaic projects easy and fun that the other books left out.
You don’t have to do this project. If you want, you can mosaic on something else of your choice. The techniques that I teach in this tutorial can translate to other mosaic projects, for example: mirror frames, boxes and wall art. Or if you want to be adventurous, you can do what I did. One of my earlier projects was to mosaic from the floor to the ceiling in my shower. The sky’s the limit, get creative. It’s a good way to use up any leftover tile you maybe have laying around the house.
