MAKEUP ARTIST - WIG and HAIR STYLIST - JEWELRY DESIGNER - SKINCARE SPECIALIST

OMG, Another Year is Over

I say this every year. Where did it go?

Well, this is where it went.

I worked on some fun shows this year doing hair, wigs and makeup. In January and February I did Bernstein’s Mass at the Los Angeles Philharmonic and an one women show starring, Saffron Burrows in Jackie Unveiled  at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts.

I did the annual summer musical at the Hollywood Bowl. It was Annie this year; matter of fact, Annie was my first professional musical that I did, had so much fun doing it again.

I worked on a couple of operas for The Los Angeles Opera in the fall.

I finished up 2018, working on ABT’s The Nutcracker at the Segerstrom Center for the Performing Arts.

My favorite job I did this year was getting to do makeup and hair on Joni Mitchell’s birthday tribute concert. I had a hard time not being a fangirl. I mainly took care of EmmyLou Harris. She was so lovely. Here are the names for some of the performers: Brandi Carlile, James Taylor, Norah Jones, Chaka Khan, Los Lobos, Seal, Graham Nash, Diana Krall, Kris Kristofferson, Glen Hansard and Rufus Wainwright

This year I launched my Youtube channel. It is called Beadaful Designs by Donna. I hope you will check it out and subscribe. I will be covering all sorts of subjects from skincare info, makeup application, crafting, jewelry, DIY for the home and garden projects. All the stuff that interest me and hope it will interest you too.

I did some home reno on my house, got a new roof, garage door and had it painted. I did some DIY garden projects. A video will be coming soon on my channel.

I had a wonderful visit from my mother, visiting from Canada. We did a little get-away to San Simeon for a few days. We visited Hearst Castle and spent a day in the city Cambria. If you haven’t had the opportunity to go to Hearst Castle I recommend it. On the way home, we spent a few hours in Solvang. We indulged in some decadent danishes, even took some home for later.

That’s about it for my year. It was ok; however, I am looking forward to 2019. As I write this blog, I have a possible job opportunity in the works. It is something I have never done before. It’s on my bucket list. If it comes to fruition, I will keep you informed. I would like to wish you a successful and healthy Happy New Year.
